The Twisted Necklace takes a simple circular form and changes its character through one small detail — the twist.
I make the pendant from square wire, twisting half of the metal before forming it into a hoop. This creates changing surfaces and crisp edges that catch the light differently as the pendant moves.
I love that the design looks simple at first glance, but reveals more texture and detail when you look more closely. It's this balance between clean geometry and the marks of the making process that makes the piece distinctly Amy Mead.
The circular pendant sits simply on its chain, making it easy to wear every day, either on its own or layered with other necklaces. The necklace length is adjustable so you can choose to wear at 18 inches or 20 inches.
Each pendant is individually formed, twisted and finished by hand in the Amy Mead studio, so subtle differences are part of what makes every necklace unique.
